We were able to ask questions as well. We were provided a handbook which contained materials explaining what a detox was, what to eat during the detox, and how our bodies should react to the detox. The handbook also contains guidelines and a daily protocol (what foods to avoid and suggested alternatives). There a list of foods to enjoy, a daily checklist to help track what you do, and great recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack and smoothies. For the times we eat out, there is an eating out guide. I found the detox a benefit to my health. There are a few recipes I still use even when I am not detoxing.

Health Coach - I was able to participate in a 6 month nutritional program with Shulanda Barnett as my health coach. This program introduced a better way of thinking about my physical and mental health. Shulanda provided me with lots of material that included portion control.....

example, lists of the better foods to eat, a list of healthy snacks, smoothies recipes, along with a suggestion for 1 week meal planning with recipes. The program was beneficial to me as it not only opened my eyes to better food sources and a better way to eat, but also helped me work through my mental health. Shulanda help me work through why I was an emotional eater, and how I can be aware of what I eat through my emotions. While I participated I was able to lose some weight, but most of all my mental health is much stronger. I realize health is an everyday practice and I try to practice better choices every day.
